Century 21 Unica Real Estate Ensuring People in Need Not Forgotten at Christmas
Albuquerque, NM (PRWEB) December 14, 2017 -- The Homme Team at Century 21 Unica Real Estate, Tracy Highspencer and Ken Sears, are hosting a holiday toy and food drive. New, unwrapped toys will be given to Toys for Tots, whose mission is to collect toys each holiday season and distribute them as Christmas gifts to children in need. Non-perishable food items will be given to the Roadrunner Food Bank. Donated items can be dropped off at Century 21 Unica Real Estate, 1717 Carlisle Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM, between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. now until December 19.
“I used to own a horse training facility where I worked with neighborhood kids, troubled teens and special needs children, teaching motor skills and respect for all God’s creations. We were also a foster kid safe house for those in need,” said Highspencer.
“Ken and I both feel like this is a terrific way for those of us blessed with good fortune this holiday to help the less fortunate. Please come by with your non-perishables and unwrapped toys and help us help our community this season.”
Toys for Tots is a program run by the United States Marine Corps Reserve, which distributes toys to children who may not otherwise receive a gift for Christmas. Toys for Tots plays an active role in developing one of our nation’s most valuable resources, its children, and unites members of local communities in a common cause each year during its annual toy collection and distribution campaign.
Roadrunner Food Bank, which is also a member of Feeding America, has been serving New Mexico’s hungry since 1980. As the largest food bank in the state, it distributes more than 30 million pounds every year to a network of hundreds of partner agencies and four regional food banks.
