Renaissance Names Mike Evans Chief Operating Officer
WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (PRWEB) December 19, 2017 -- Renaissance®, the leader in pre-K–12 learning analytics, today announced the appointment of Mike Evans as the organization’s chief operating officer (COO), effective immediately.
As COO, and in addition to his current responsibilities as chief financial officer (CFO), Evans will take on responsibility for Renaissance’s corporate affairs and information services teams, and will help bolster the organization’s offerings to support educators and students worldwide.
“I am honored to take on an expanded role at Renaissance, and look forward to partnering with our talented senior leadership team to deliver on our organization’s purpose: to accelerate learning for all,” says Evans. “This is an exciting time for Renaissance as we advance our assessment and practice solutions. It’s gratifying to work for such a purpose-driven organization, and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to help propel the organization forward as COO and CFO.”
Evans has served as Renaissance’s CFO since October 2015, and was interim chief executive officer (CEO) until Renaissance appointed Daniel Hamburger as CEO in July 2017. In these roles, Evans has had a significant impact on the growth of the organization by establishing cross-functional, data-driven operations. He led the creation of Renaissance’s business intelligence team, formalized the organization’s legal function, and recently formed its central program management office.
“I am pleased to announce Mike’s COO appointment,” says Daniel Hamburger, CEO of Renaissance. “Mike has had a significant impact on the success of our organization, not the least of which was serving as interim CEO earlier this year — while not missing a beat as CFO. I am confident Mike’s steady organizational leadership will help us establish a clear roadmap to continue elevating our solutions and drive phenomenal student growth.”
Evans is a 20-year veteran of the education technology industry. Prior to joining Renaissance, Evans led Pearson’s K–12 literacy and math business lines, its student information business, and K–12 technology organization. At BigChalk, a provider of digital libraries and curriculum, Evans was the COO, overseeing key operations for the web-based company.
