Lyman Orchards' Apple Barrel Will Close For The Season On December 31
MIDDLEFIELD, CT (PRWEB) December 19, 2017 -- Happy Holidays from the Lyman Orchards’ family to your family.
As we turn the calendar toward a new (and fruitful) year, the Apple Barrel will close for the season on Dec. 31. But our award-winning pies are available online year-round, so folks will never be far from the orchard.
“The Lyman Family and our employees thank all the families who came out to the farm this year,” said John Lyman III, Executive Vice President. “We’re grateful for the wonderful season we all had together. This year’s crop was truly outstanding, thanks to the hardworking people who tend our orchard, not to mention the favorable weather we experienced.”
The Gary Player Course is open daily for play throughout the winter, weather permitting. The Golf Center will offer instructional golf, available by appointment. The Jones Course, Apple Nine Course, and driving ranges will reopen in early March, weather permitting.
Crews will work in the orchard during the winter, getting it ready for the upcoming season. Teams will be pruning more than 100 acres of apple trees, 30 acres of peach trees and 10 acres of pear trees, and the Apple Barrel team will work to create new products for our customers to enjoy. We’ll also develop plans for the more than 60 events hosted at the Apple Barrel each season.
The Apple Barrel remains open daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until Dec. 31, with the exception of Christmas Eve (we’ll close at 3 p.m.), Christmas Day (closed all day), and New Year’s Eve (we’ll close at 3 p.m.).
The growing season is always on our mind and never far away at Lyman Orchards. We look forward to seeing visitors near and far next spring, when the Apple Barrel opens on March 17, 2018! Thank you for a great season!
