The Grubb Company Opens a New Office in Downtown Oakland
Oakland, CA (PRWEB) December 20, 2017 -- The Grubb Company has opened a new office at 100 Grand Avenue in the Uptown district of Oakland.
"I have always believed in Oakland since moving here in 1976," stated John Karnay, owner. "Oakland had enjoyed a rich cultural history from the days of the Pullman Porters bringing food and music here from around the country, to being known as the Milwaukee and Detroit of the West Coast for our beer and automobile production prior to WW2, and now the Port of Oakland is the 4th busiest port in the country. Even the Mai Tai was invented at Trader Vic’s original location on San Pablo Avenue in Oakland."
But starting in the 1950s, the Downtown area began to languish. Nightlife disappeared while businesses and residents left the center of the city. The city still had a few bright spots, a few jewels scattered about, but unconnected. The downward spiral finally came to a halt due to the visionary leadership of Mayor Jerry Brown in 1999. His vision of 10,000 residents in the downtown corridor was the way to turn things around. Businesses, restaurants and nightlife returned to all the neighborhoods, connecting those disparate gems in the city into a cohesive work of art that is now Oakland. Downtown Oakland is a community of artists, young professionals, families and businesses who chose to live and work here.
"Today, our city attracts people who aren’t afraid to come together to build a better community," said Karnay. "It’s that vision that keeps us focused and proud to serve our community. We opened this office to serve the Uptown community: all of those who live and/or work in the area. In addition to the main office, we’ve designed a second space to be used as a resource center for artists, architects, designers and visionaries."
The Grubb Company’s new office combines top real estate agents, technology and community to continue the company legacy. The Grubb Company also has offices in Oakland’s Montclair district and The Uplands neighborhood in Berkeley. The first office was opened 50 years ago in Montclair by Donald Grubb Sr. after his departure from Grubb & Ellis Commercial brokerage in 1967. The second office was opened in Berkeley 12 years ago.
"The Grubb Company has been in Oakland for 50 years, and now we are excited that we are in Uptown," stated owner D.J. Grubb. "It took us over a year to find this strategic location."
The Uptown Oakland location has two spaces for both work and community. The office space will have a team of top real estate agents who will integrate technology, strategy and design to create a positive and dynamic experience for clients. Likewise, the community resource center will provide access to downtown residential development, and facilitate communication with neighborhood vendors, and non-profit organizations.
The Grubb Company is a privately held company with 80 full-time professional agents. There are more Grubb Company agents who rank in the top 100 East Bay Agents List in sales volume than any other Bay Area residential brokerage. The Grubb Company is a community based local company with a broad footprint.
The CFO, John Karnay stated, "Our market is Oakland, Berkeley, Piedmont, and we specialize in the East Bay. This is our community; we live here, and want to continue our legacy of community support and involvement."
