Lenita Miller’s newly released “Shaken But Not Broken” is an emotionally resonant book about God’s love for an abused woman, saving her from death after a brutal beating.
(PRWEB) January 05, 2018 -- “Shaken But Not Broken”: an evocative story of the author’s personal account with struggle and redemption from the hands of her oppressors. “Shaken But Not Broken” is the creation of published author, Lenita Miller, the oldest child in the family who have five siblings, eight children, and grandchildren.
Miller shares, “The doctors told us my brain looked like Swiss cheese, and I needed to stop smoking, period. I smoked three packs of cigarettes a day until the doctor told me that I was blessed to not be twisted up the way others who had at least one stroke. Also, he told me I wouldn’t be so lucky if I survived it at all. He didn’t have to tell me a second time; my doctor got right on it, and I began to get in it as well. The cigarettes I quit with the help of my doctor and Chantix. I had also got an idea to cut straws the length of a one hundred cigarette, and every time I would get that craving, I would chew on the straw. The “rock” that was my best friend. I had to pray and ask God to take the taste out of my mouth and deliver me from the desire to smoke that demon. I never smoked crack again or cigarettes. I had been into treatment programs, and they worked for a while, but I always went back. Once I was delivered by God from that drug, I now can’t stomach the smell of cigarettes, weed, crack, or anything that has to do with the word drug.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Lenita Miller’s new book is a poignantly written true story on the abuse and addictions the author has been able to overcome with the help of God and the true joy she has felt—no matter how hard her circumstances may be—because she has a God who saves those who are lost.
Miller uses her own story to prove that God redeems anyone who sincerely comes to him and acknowledge that nothing is bigger than his saving love and grace. This is a beautiful account on how the Lord preserves his beloved children.
