ATLAS Space Operations Announces Key Changes to Executive Leadership Team
Traverse City, Michigan (PRWEB) January 08, 2018 -- ATLAS Space Operations, an industry leader in space to ground communications, announced today two executive appointments effective immediately. ATLAS Chief Executive Officer, Sean McDaniel, has appointed Mike Carey to the position of Chief Strategy Officer, and Mark Malosh to the position of Chief Operating Officer. The CSO position was created by McDaniel as a necessary measure to continue the development and execution of the expected growth strategy of ATLAS as a recognized industry disruptor.
“2018 is rapidly shaping up to be our busiest year on record.” Said McDaniel. “With the introduction of our game changing antenna technology and the rapid expansion of our global ground station network, we’ve recognized the need for experience and laser focus on executing our corporate strategy.”
In his new role, Carey is now responsible for developing and implementing the industry shaking business plan. Handling marketing, sales and strategic relationships, Mike holds the rare tool set needed to carve a new path for ATLAS in the space-to-ground communications sector.
“As Chief Strategy Officer, I'll focus on our biggest assets - industry relationships”, said Carey. “Shaping the landscape for ATLAS's success is fueled by our team and their innovation. The addition of Mark to the ATLAS team allows our leadership as a whole to add value and lead in our industry.”
Mark Malosh joins ATLAS as a C-level professional with more than 25 years of leadership experience. He has spent a majority of his career focusing on the development and cultivation of high-tech industry start-ups from innovative business models into successful industry disruptors that produce a high return-on-investment.
Prior to joining ATLAS, Mark was a founding member of the technical team at Gogo Inflight, Inc., the world’s leading in-flight communications provider. Serving as Senior Vice President, Mark was responsible for the delivery of technical products and services for both domestic and international airlines. Mark also managed technical operations for Gogo’s national wireless network and infrastructure along with aircraft engineering, certification, and supply chain, as well as installation and maintenance of equipment for more than 3,000 commercial aircraft.
“We are thrilled to have him on our team. He’s a proven veteran with developing start-ups in the communications industry, and I have the utmost confidence in Mark’s ability to expand the ATLAS network into the foreseeable future.” Said McDaniel.
Mark holds degrees in Electrical Engineering, with a Bachelor of Science from Michigan Technological University, a Master of Science from the University of Illinois-Chicago, as well as a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago. His experience within the communications industry includes technical oversight and leadership of RF and network engineering, operations, data centers, as well as field operations and deployment, supply chain and logistics.
“I’m delighted to be joining the ATLAS team. Their antenna [LINKS™] and software platform [Freedom™] are game-changers for the space communications ground segment, which is an ideal fit for my industry experience” Said Malosh. Adding, “For me, this isn’t just an opportunity to help another start-up company make waves and grow to its full potential – it’s like returning home, because I’m originally from western Michigan, and my family absolutely loves the Traverse City area. So, yeah. I’m thrilled to be onboard.”
