Osso VR, a Virtual Reality company that has created a surgical training platform, has been named the winner of the inaugural Zimmer Biomet Innovation Award. Eight (8) finalist companies were selected from the applicants and asked to present a case study to a panel of experts as well as an audience of curated health care leaders at the Digital Orthopaedics Conference San Francisco on January 7, 2018. The award was announced at the Digital Orthopaedics Conference in San Francisco.
The Zimmer Biomet Innovation Awards provide an opportunity for innovative technology startup companies to present how they plan to transform healthcare using Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Robotics, Automation, Virtual Reality(VR), Augmented Reality(AR), Mixed Reality (MR) and 3D printing.

Osso VR is a clinically-validated surgical training platform designed for surgeons, sales teams, and hospital staff of all skill levels. Their product offers highly realistic hand-based interactions in an immersive training environment containing cutting edge procedures and devices. The Osso VR team is currently focused on solving training gaps for orthopedic and spine therapies, but is expanding into other specialties and procedures.

LeanTaaS received the runner up for the Zimmer Biomet Innovation Award. The company’s product, iQueue for Operating Rooms, enables perioperative leaders to increase OR utilization by $500K+ per OR per year by using predictive analytics and machine learning to, optimize block schedules, automate block releases and requests, and optimize operating room resource and supply utilization.
Enlitic, Inc. was named third place for the Zimmer Biomet Innovation Award. Enlitic, Inc. is a deep learning company dedicated to revolutionizing diagnostic healthcare.
