Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, Boyd K. Rutherford Gives Keynote Speech at Year Up Baltimore Graduation
BALTIMORE (PRWEB) January 19, 2018 -- Lieutenant Governor of Maryland, Boyd K. Rutherford will deliver a keynote address at a graduation ceremony for Year Up Baltimore’s thirteenth class on Friday, January 19th. The ceremony will take place at Baltimore City Community College’s Liberty Campus from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm where families of Year Up Baltimore students, community leaders, corporate partners, and donors are expected to attend to celebrate the hard work, dedication, and success of the program’s graduates.
“Year Up plays an important role in our communities by motivating our young people and encouraging them in their educational and professional goals,” said Lt. Governor Boyd Rutherford. “I’d like to congratulate Year Up Baltimore’s graduates on this outstanding achievement and wish them well in their future educational pursuits and careers.”

Since 2010, Year Up Baltimore has helped more than 520 young adults achieve their professional and educational goals through hands-on technical and professional skills training, college credits and internships on the campus of Baltimore City Community College. These young adults provide Baltimore’s leading businesses – including CareFirst, Johns Hopkins University and Medical Systems and Exelon — with a pipeline of skilled, motivated talent for entry- and mid-level roles in IT, Cybersecurity, and Business.
Year Up Baltimore now serves more than 160 people each year, with 100 percent of graduates employed or attending college full-time within four months of completing the program.
