National Association of Professional Women Inducts Ethel Phelan, Entrepreneur, Into its VIP Professional Woman of the Year Circle
Garden City, NY (PRWEB) January 23, 2018 -- The National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) honors Ethel Phelan as a 2017-2018 inductee into its VIP Woman of the Year Circle. She is recognized with this prestigious distinction for leadership in entrepreneurship. NAPW is the nation’s leading networking organization exclusively for professional women, boasting more than 850,000 members, a thriving eChapter and over 200 operating Local Chapters.
“I’m pleased to welcome Ethel into this exceptional group of professional women,” said NAPW President Star Jones.
“Being an Entrepreneur, life is excitingly a whirlwind of opportunities and personal growth,” said Ethel Phelan. Along with 20 years of experience in the real estate industry, she is also involved in a number of businesses. In 2012, she founded Properties Worldwide, a real estate management company. Although the company was successful, it was a stressful time for Ms. Phelan who lost her husband and sister that same year. But still, she persevered.
“I was a top producer my second-year of working in real estate,” she said. “Before I went into real estate, I was a mortgage loan officer, so prequalifying both sellers and buyers was easy and fast.” Ms. Phelan also worked as a Licensed Insurance Agent and a Certified Short Sale Specialist, where she worked closely with sellers, bankers and buyers as they faced foreclosure.
“It was very emotional,” she said of her job. “I did that for more than ten years and at the end of 2016 I couldn’t do anymore—I was burnt out!” In 2017, Ms. Phelan went to the Philippines for some much- needed rest, but she soon embarked on another venture. “I stayed on the island where I was born, a beautiful island with beautiful beaches and where I have coconut plantations,” she said. “I was glad to finally give my attention to my inheritance. Within three months, I had 10,000 cocoa trees planted. In another one and a half years, it will be a full-blown business.”
Ms. Phelan’s meditation resort in the Philippines is a work in progress she hopes to finish within the next year. Her yoga and reiki instructors are in place. “The place is beautiful and serene, a perfect place for a quiet rest,” she said. “It is surrounded by exotic fruit trees and trees.” She also bought more land with coconuts trees while single and began teaching in Taiwan. “I also opened a kindergarten, Children’s Village, for the children of expatriates, ambassadors and business professionals from different countries.”
Ms. Phelas is also excited about continuing her involvement with her present work with NowLifestyle, a global health and fitness company, where she focuses on global education and the importance of having a fit and healthy mind and body. Her passion is related to the early death of her husband and sister of heart attack and diabetes, which she believes can be eliminated through proper education.
As she looks forward to continuing her work, Ms. Phelan is equally excited about the future of her cocoa project. “A full plate but is in my blueprint; a woman must have choices!” she said.
