Technology firm reports increased revenue and customer growth in 2017

OmniUpdate, the leading web content management system (CMS) provider for higher education, announced today that 2017 marked the 15th consecutive year of record growth for the company. OmniUpdate saw customers and users grow to new levels, especially those transitioning from an open source system, leading to the company outselling all commercial competitors, and booking 90 percent more annual recurring revenue year over year.

OU Insights™ was at the forefront of module sales in 2017. Launched in 2016, OU Insights continually performs a thorough analysis of a website and reports broken links and misspellings, as well as ADA accessibility and SEO problems. Sales were attributed to increases in industry exposure and priority of importance from the U.S. Department of Education.

In addition to 15 years of consecutive year-over-year growth, OmniUpdate won a Silver Stevie® Award for Customer Service Department of the Year in the category Computer Software (Up to 100 Employees). OmniUpdate’s customer support and training teams have won Stevie Awards for four consecutive years.

Lance Merker, President and CEO of OmniUpdate, added, “This past year was phenomenal for OmniUpdate. In 2017, we gained more new customers from open source than ever before, we maintained our industry-leading customer retention rate, we grew our staff, and we expanded our partner network with higher ed focused technology experts. We are so pleased to welcome a record number of new customers to the OU Campus™ platform, as they join the largest community of commercial CMS users in higher education.”
