NEW YORK (PRWEB) January 31, 2018 -- Stephen Dilts has been named New York office leader and senior vice president of HNTB Corporation. Based in the firm’s Empire State Building office, Dilts will oversee more than 300 multidisciplinary transportation professionals in the New York City region, providing leadership in strategic planning, building and enhancing strong client relationships and supporting major project pursuits and delivery.
“The New York area is one of the nation’s major focal points for vitally needed transportation infrastructure, encompassing transit and rail, highways, bridges, tunnels, aviation and tolling systems, among others,” said Phil Brake, PE, HNTB Northeast Division president. “Under Steve’s leadership, we look forward to continuing to grow our role on major infrastructure projects throughout New York and partnering with the region’s transportation agencies in supporting the economic growth and enhanced mobility of people across the entire northeastern U.S.”
Dilts has more than 16 years of local, state and federal experience in the transportation field. His background encompasses 10 years as a public official, including serving as chairman of New Jersey Transit, commissioner and deputy commissioner of the New Jersey Department of Transportation, and chairman and deputy executive director of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority. Dilts left public service in 2010 and joined HNTB in 2014. He became the New Jersey office leader in early 2015.
A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government with a master’s degree in governmental administration, Dilts also holds a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in political science from Boston University. He recently completed his third term as president of the Intelligent Transportation Society of New Jersey, and he is an executive committee member of the American Council of Engineering Companies of New Jersey. Additionally, he is a member of the Regional Plan Association New Jersey Committee and the Women’s Transportation Seminar.
