Neighborhood Credit Union Presents Children's Health with $56,000
DALLAS (PRWEB) February 05, 2018 -- A small donation can go a long way. Neighborhood Credit Union leaders saw that firsthand when they presented Children's Health with a check for $56,850 as a result of its Skip-A-Payment program.
Neighborhood CU allows its members to skip a loan payment during the holidays in return for a small donation. The money raised from the Skip-A-Payment campaign is donated directly to Children's Health.
Children's Health officials took Neighborhood CU leaders on a tour of hospital facilities to show how donations are used to help accommodate patients and their families. From the team of therapy dogs that visit the kids' rooms to a new playroom where patients can do crafts and play pool, Children's Health does whatever it can to help their patients feel comfortable during their stay.
"Seeing how hard Children's Health works to help these kids feel at home and getting to see where our contributions go is an incredible feeling," said Carolyn Jordan, senior vice president of Neighborhood Credit Union. "We love hearing the success stories and know that our efforts make a difference in these kids' lives."
Neighborhood CU has been a longtime supporter of Children's Health, most recently as participants in the inaugural Star 102.1 Miracle Day Radiothon, as well as other events benefiting Children's Health.
"We have been privileged to be able to work alongside Children's Health during the past 24 years," said Chet Kimmell, president and CEO of Neighborhood Credit Union. "I'm extremely proud that our members have allowed us to generously donate each year."
