The Good People Fund Announces $225,000 Grant from The Herb Alpert Foundation
LOS ANGELES (PRWEB) February 07, 2018 -- The Good People Fund announced today that the Herb Alpert Foundation has awarded a $225,000 grant to assist the Fund in their support of small, humanitarian and community building programs and organizations throughout the United States. The 2018 grant marks a decade of financial support from the Herb Alpert Foundation to the Good People Fund.
The grant enables The Good People Fund to identify, counsel and fund under-the-radar, grassroots entities focused on emerging needs and designing creative, unique ways to address them.
"At the Herb Alpert Foundation, we never cease to be amazed at the significant impact The Good People Fund has in assisting small programs and organizations across the country succeed in helping individuals and families in a myriad of important ways,” said Rona Sebastian, President of the Herb Alpert Foundation. “It is a testament to what targeted and strategic support to evolving non-profits can produce.”
Since its founding ten years ago, The Good People Fund has advanced entrepreneurial approaches and measurable impact across the spectrum of humanitarian and social needs – from poverty and disabilities, to elder care and social isolation – in communities across the country. And some of the efforts nurtured by them have become nationally recognized organizations in their particular area of focus.
“We remain deeply moved by the extraordinary support we have received from the Herb Alpert Foundation since the very earliest days of our work a decade ago,” said Naomi Eisenberger, Executive Director of The Good People Fund.
“With grants to us totaling $1,500,000, their generosity has leveraged the work of untold numbers of small, creative organizations and their visionary founders.”
Inspired by the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repairing the world), The Good People Fund, based in Millburn, NJ, has granted more than $11.5 million since its founding in 2008.
The Herb Alpert Foundation actively supports organizations that understand the importance of compassion and creativity and the positive effects inherent in restoring individuals’ and families’ abilities to stand independently.
