McLean, Va. (PRWEB) February 07, 2018 -- GoodSeeker, Inc., an employer branding and advocacy software company, announced the closing of a series seed investment – bringing the total raised to $1.3 million.
Michael Ortner, founder of Capterra, the world’s leading marketplace and reviews site for business software, led the round and joins the advisory board. Funds will be used for product development and to grow the team in the areas of marketing and customer service.
GoodSeeker is a SaaS-based solution that helps an organization’s employees, customers, and other stakeholders to easily generate and post their stories about good things that happen at work – which are too often missed. The solution offers a simple to use “Story Generator” for developing stories that can easily be promoted internally, externally on a GoodSeeker company page, and on social media.
According to Edelman’s 2017 Trust Barometer, “a person like yourself” is viewed as just as credible a source of information about a company as an expert, and more credible than a CEO. Indeed notes that 83 percent of job seekers look for information such as employee testimonials, employer reviews, and inside stories to validate an organization's claims. An organization’s ability to attract talent and customers is now heavily influenced by reviews and social media shared by current and past employees.
A 2017 Universum report cites that 69 percent of the world’s most attractive employers (WMAE) will invest more in social media for employment branding. Forty one percent cite employee advocacy as their primary employer brand objective, with employee testimonials and inside stories comprising 75 percent of the content used to support employer brand marketing.
“Mike is a pioneer when it comes to B2B internet companies and the power of user-generated reviews and ratings,” said Erik Ayers, CEO and Co-Founder, GoodSeeker, Inc. “His insights, entrepreneurial experience and passion for workplace culture are exactly what GoodSeeker needs in an investor and advisor.”
“GoodSeeker is executing on a major opportunity to help companies identify and engage employees as advocates, and to paint a more balanced picture,” said Ortner. “Advocacy is a powerful marketing tool, especially when employees feel engaged and have something meaningful to share.”
