CMS 2018 Hospital Improvement Rule Proposed Changes: Live Webinar by AudioEducator
DURHAM, N.C. (PRWEB) February 08, 2018 -- AudioEducator, a division of audio conference and corporate education leader ProEdTech, will host the live webinar “CMS 2018 Hospital Improvement Rule Proposed Changes: Nursing, Medical Records, Infection Control, Antibiotic Stewardship Program, Restraints, QAPI” with medical legal consultant Sue Dill Calloway, RN, MSN, JD, on Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 1:00 pm ET. This session will discuss CMS’s 2018 proposed changes in the hospital improvement rule.
CMS has proposed some significant changes to the hospital conditions of participation (CoPs) that every hospital, including critical access hospitals, should know. The proposal includes changes to: nursing, medical records, infection control, Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI), patient rights, and restraint and seclusion. All hospitals will be required to have an antibiotic stewardship program to curb the over-use and over-prescribing that is causing widespread antimicrobial resistance. Plus, CMS is focused on anti-discrimination and plans to incorporate the requirements of the non-discrimination provision of the Affordable Care Act (OCR 1557) into its own hospital CoPs.
That’s a lot to get your head around! Join Sue Dill Calloway, RN, MSN, JD, as she outlines each proposed change and how it will affect your hospital and your CoP.
Everyone from chief nursing officers, nurse educators, and pharmacists to regulatory, compliance officers, and anyone involved in implementing the hospitals CoPs, will benefit from this in-depth compliance session. After attending, you will understand:
- How to implement an antimicrobial stewardship program
- Why PAs may soon be able to order restraint/seclusion and perform assessments
- Which outpatient areas will require an RN
- What final diagnosis will need to be in the medical record for all outpatients within 7 days
