Florida Hospital Sebring Designated Diagnostic Imaging “Center of Excellence”
SEBRING, Fla. (PRWEB) February 25, 2018 -- Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring has been designated a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence™ (DICOE) by the American College of Radiology (ACR).
The DICOE program, which represents the pinnacle of medical imaging care, is an achievement that goes beyond accreditation to recognize best-quality imaging practices and diagnostic care. This includes a comprehensive assessment of the entire medical imaging enterprise, including structure and outcomes. The DICOE designation recognizes excellence at multiple levels — including the professional staff, the technology and the policies and procedures the organization follows — and superior patient care.
“Florida Hospital Heartland is one of only five such designated centers within the entire state of Florida for this prestigious honor. This demonstrates the extraordinary commitment to the highest quality standard by our Imaging Services Team to ensure we provide the best service available anywhere in the country. It’s right here at Florida Hospital Heartland!” stated Randy Surber, President and CEO of Florida Hospital Heartland Region.
“We are so proud of the Diagnostic Imaging team at Florida Hospital Heartland. Being recognized as a Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence (DICOE) by the American College of Radiology (ACR) confirms what we believe, that we provide today’s highest level of image quality, patient safety and care,” said Zbigniew Nawrocki, Florida Hospital Heartland Region Administrative Director of Cancer, Cardiovascular and Diagnostic Imaging Services.
To receive this elite distinction, facilities must be accredited by the ACR in all modalities they provide, and in which the ACR offers an accreditation program. Another requirement is to participate in the Dose Index Registry® and General Radiology Improvement Database, as well as Image Wisely® and Image Gently®.
