“An Average Life?”: a poignant work on a not-so-average life that is full of adventures, heartaches, and moments of endurance, faith, and love. “An Average Life?” is the creation of published author, Fred B. Bonow, an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Navy who was born in a small town in the heart of Wisconsin.
Fred shares this excerpt from his book, “Nancy and the girls were scheduled to fly back to the US in a couple of days, and I caught a flight the same day, only on a separate plane. We flew from Rota to Madrid within an hour of each other. I watched her flight leave from Rota and again watched her flight leave from Madrid. I spent the next twelve hours in a standby status and finally boarded a refueling plane bound for a base in northern New York. The plane was loaded with so much fuel it had to circle a couple times to climb to its assigned flight altitude. There was a bench for several of us along the outer bulkhead of the plane. Once we achieved our altitude, the cabin temperature was freezing at our feet and uncomfortably hot at head level. It was the worst plane ride I have had and would not wish that ride on anyone. I was going home, and the discomfort didn’t matter.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Fred B. Bonow’s new book is a stirring personal account that takes the readers to what the world was during the time he was born through the narration of his life adventures, experiences, and realizations—both the good times and the bad.
His work also shows the contributions of the people in his life and the impact tragic experiences have made on him. With faith in God, he is able to weather through life’s storms.
