Women In Technology Announces VIP Sponsor and Keynote for WIT Connect 2018
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) February 27, 2018 -- Women In Technology (WIT) today announced the VIP Reception Sponsor and keynote speaker for its signature fundraising event, WIT Connect 2018, to be held on Thursday, June 21 at the Georgia Aquarium.
Since its inception, WIT Connect has gathered nearly 700 of Atlanta's top executives to raise more than $3.2 million to support the development of young girls and the advancement of women in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM).
Each year, before the program, WIT hosts a special VIP Reception for invited WIT Connect guests and C-Suite executives participating in the Executive Auction. WIT is proud to announce that State Farm will host the VIP Reception for the second consecutive year.
"We are pleased to be the WIT Connect VIP Reception sponsor for the second year. State Farm has a passion for serving customers and giving back in our communities. We understand the importance of advancing women in STEAM and we are pleased to partner with WIT to make a difference in the community," said Rachel Bagnell, Information Technology Manager at State Farm.
WIT is also proud to announce this year's WIT Connect Keynote Speaker: Rhonda Vetere, President of nThrive. Vetere, previous Chief Technology Officer at Estee Lauder, has earned over 12 Industry awards including Top 100 STEM, Global Top 150 for business transformation, Global 100 Industry Leaders for innovation and leadership along with Stevie Awards for global business leadership.
Named by SWAAY magazine as one of the most prominent female voices in tech, Vetere is strategically aligned with WIT's goal to empower girls and women to excel in STEAM - from the classroom to the boardroom.
"Encouraging students to continue their study of STEAM subjects is essential to generating genuine excitement within - and outside of - the classroom for today's generation. Providing mentorships, especially to encourage women and minorities to embrace STEAM development, is also necessary. Equally as important is leveraging CIOs and CTOs in a cross-functional STEAM environment that promotes an industry "community," said Vetere.
Philanthropy:
The premier fundraising and networking event includes a unique executive auction which allows individuals to bid for exclusive time with top Atlanta C-Suite executives. Proceeds from the executive auction support WIT Girls and Campus - WIT's free educational programs for girls and young women. For more information, visit http://bit.ly/WITCONNECT2018
