In addition to the winners of the Facebook contest, Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas is pleased to announce the winners of the $1,000 college scholarships: Tyler Blevins, Georgia Institute of Technology, and Iman Naieem, George Mason University.
LAS VEGAS (PRWEB) March 12, 2018
Chapel of the Flowers in Las Vegas has a heart for not only for couples in love, but for students who need help paying for college. Earlier this month the elegant one-acre wedding venue, also known as the Destination for True Love, announced that both the winner and first runner-up of the “Share Your Love Story” contest are from the United Kingdom. Grand prize winner Donna Gray will receive $1,000 towards her wedding at Chapel of the Flowers and first runner-up Leanne Dent will receive $250 to use for her ceremony at the chapel.
The contest ran on Facebook from January 22 through February 28, 2018 and had thousands of interactions with posts from couples around the world who were competing on the popular social network for a chance to win their dream wedding or vow renewal at Chapel of the Flowers. The race was as close as two speed skaters at the recent Olympic games. Though Donna and Leanne each had over 2,300 likes, which included posting the “heart” or “thumbs up” emoji, the grand prize went to Donna who won by only 20 fan interactions.
Chapel of the Flowers is also pleased to announce the winners of two $1,000 college scholarships. Tyler Blevins is a student at Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia - George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering, and Iman Naieem is studying for a B.S. in psychology (I/O) and a minor in business at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. Each student submitted a short essay in January explaining why they deserved to win one of two $1,000 Chapel of the Flowers College Scholarships.
The staff at Chapel of the Flowers carefully reviewed each submission and was impressed with all of the applicants and their compelling stories. However, Tyler Blevins and Iman Naieem won over the judges with a passion for their majors and their focus on specific career paths following college graduation.
Tyler Blevins is also a resident advisor with the Georgia Tech Department of Housing. Iman Naieem is President of Psi Chi Honor Society and Public Relations Chair of Phi Alpha Delta. Chapel of the Flowers is honored to award Tyler and Naieem the first college scholarships of 2018.
Chapel of the Flowers is currently seeking submissions for two additional $1,000 scholarships that will be awarded in August 2018. Deadline to apply is July 31, 2018. For details and to complete the short scholarship application, please visit https://www.littlechapel.com/scholarship.
