Catapult Learning, a leading provider of instructional intervention and professional development solutions, today announced the launch of its new supplemental STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) program. Catapult Learning works with hundreds of district partners across the country and sees first-hand how school administrators can struggle to integrate STEM into K-12 classrooms. Helping eliminate this pain point, the company has designed a turnkey supplemental program that easily integrates into a school's existing operation either during or after school, during summer school or as part of a professional development initiative.
"Our goal is to help schools integrate STEM meaningfully and effectively, so we designed a flexible, turnkey program that makes STEM attainable for all schools and every student," said Catapult Learning's CEO, Jeffrey Cohen. "We developed our program to complement a school's curriculum and based it on the engineering design process so that students learn transferrable problem-solving skills they can apply across all academic disciplines."
The inquiry-based curriculum will change the way that teachers and students think about STEM. Students will gain a deep understanding of the engineering design process by defining problems, conducting background research, brainstorming multiple ideas for solutions, developing and creating prototypes, and then testing, evaluating and redesigning their approach.
Lessons integrate hands-on learning tools and activities to create an engaging, fun, and creative learning environment. Catapult Learning's STEM program aligns with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and College and Career Readiness Standards.
