Novogradac & Company to Host Conference on HUD Rental Assistance Demonstration Program
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) March 22, 2018 -- The Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) program–an initiative that has facilitated more than $5 billion in public housing capital improvements since the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) launched it in 2012–will be the focus of a conference hosted by Novogradac & Company LLP. The inaugural Novogradac 2018 RAD Public Housing Conference will be at the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Philadelphia, April 26-27.
“The fact that RAD is fully subscribed at its 225,000-unit cap speaks volumes to the importance of the program as a way to encourage private investment in public housing,” said Rebecca Arthur, MAI, conference co-chairwoman and partner at Novogradac & Company LLP’s Kansas City, Mo. metro office. “The Novogradac conference is designed as a forum for the affordable housing community to discuss RAD investment strategies and best practices.”
“Our expert panelists will offer attendees their insights into the basics and nuances of the RAD program, as well as practical discussions on the best ways to secure financing for RAD transactions,” said Richard Larsen, CPA, conference co-chairman and partner at Novogradac & Company LLP’s Toms River, N.J., office. “We’ve also scheduled several networking opportunities so that RAD newcomers and experienced participants alike can connect, share ideas and find opportunities to collaborate.”
Panel topics include debt and equity transactions, transitioning to the Section 8/low-income housing tax credit (LIHTC) platform and maximizing the value of a PHA property.
