China Supports Sharon Kleyne’s Eye Mist To Soothe & Supplement Dry Eye Disease
GRANTS PASS, Ore. (PRWEB) March 15, 2018 -- Some of the biggest news coming out of China recently is the country’s embrace of a unique dry eye solution® for dry eye disease. As Sharon Kleyne recently shared on her nationally syndicated radio program, The Sharon Kleyne Hour Power of Water, Global Climate Change and Your Health on VoiceAmerica sponsored by Nature’s Tears® EyeMist®, China has the world’s largest population (four times that of the U.S.), its second-largest economy, a population with disposable income and widespread ocular and dry eye issues largely as a result of pollution and other serious air quality problems.
While China has made great progress in cleaning up its air pollution in the last decade, dry eye disease still afflicts more than 17 percent of the population (approximately 237 million people). In some areas of the country, the rate climbs as high as 31 percent. "The ophthalmology therapeutics market for treating dry eye disease and glaucoma in China is over U.S. 600 million with an annual growth rate of 5 percent,” said Kleyne. Perhaps worse, doctors believe that virtually the entire Chinese population experiences occasional dry eye symptoms and are frequently exposed to high risk dry eye environments.
Kleyne, also the founder and director of research at Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science®, teaches that dry eye disease is a major tear deficiency disorder that causes discomfort, visual problems and instability of the tear film, which is naturally 99% water. This tear film instability due to over-evaporation is especially dangerous for it can lead to damage of the ocular surface. If the condition is not properly addressed, the end result can be blindness. Dry eye disease can also be triggered by alcohol, smoking, contact lens wear, pollution, exposure to artificial environments, wind, sun glare, chlorinated pool water, computer use, gaming, and ocular and systemic medications.
China’s dry eye disease crisis inspired Kleyne and her research center colleagues at Bio-Logic Aqua® Research Water Life Science® to come up with a new water technology and pure water eye mist, Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® that has recently been released in Mainland China with rousing success. Like Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® users in other countries have discovered, Chinese users find longer, soothing relief. “Tired, irritated eyes are supplemented with pure water,” said Kleyne, “which is what dry eyes need. Eye drops provide temporary chemical relief,” Kleyne continued, “but they can become addictive and even make the dry eye condition worse.” Why? Because eye drops trap water on the eye’s tear film; they do not supplement and replenish the lost moisture of the tear film.
Kleyne explained that Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® is applied with a personal hand-held humidifying device. The device emits a pure, pH balanced, 100% Trade Secret tissue culture grade water in the form of a patented micron-size mist. It supplements the eye’s tear film. Nature’s Tears® EyeMist® does supplement both, and that is what China’s dry eyes need most.
