Businesses can now allow credit card tips as well as control how those gratuities are distributed from within GiftLogic.

GiftLogic Point of Sale software has been updated with gratuity support, allowing ice cream shops, coffee shops, bakeries, salons, barber shops, shoe shine shops, and other businesses to better handle gratuities.
According to a spokesperson from GiftLogic, "Businesses can now allow credit card tips as well as control how those gratuities are distributed from within GiftLogic. For example, GiftLogic can assign tips automatically to the cashier, or place them in a house account for distribution at the end of the day or pay period. The new feature accounts for tips at the time of the sale so that the manager can ensure that each employee receives the appropriate gratuity."
Robust reporting is also included. Reports can be customized to show as much or as little detail as needed.
"When distributing tips at the end of the day or pay period, the manager can run a report listing the amount of tips owed to each employee for a given time period," the spokesperson explained. "Management can also look at more detailed reports to see performance based on tips. Thus, GiftLogic helps managers gauge customer satisfaction on a per server basis. Employees who regularly receive a higher tip percentage than others likely have higher customer satisfaction.
For GiftLogic customers using the integrated credit card EMV Vantiv processing, gratuity support is practically seamless in GiftLogic POS. Options include the ability to print the tip line on receipts or prompt on the device.
"You can also set up GiftLogic to accept cash tips and non-integrated credit card tips," the spokesperson said.
