International Association of Women Inducts Mercedes Q. Wilson, Director of Loss Prevention, Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, into its VIP Influencer of the Year Circle

Mercedes Q. Wilson has a decade of experience as a senior-level loss-prevention professional, as well as expansive experience in the field of human services. In her current role as Director of Loss Prevention at the Renaissance Chicago Downtown Hotel, Ms. Wilson is responsible for managing the day-to-day loss-prevention operations of a 27-floor hotel.
Using her skills in leadership, communication and management, Ms. Wilson expertly manages a team of 11, ensuring efficiency and competency among her staff and satisfaction among guests. She has enacted a number of highly successful initiatives such as an improved lost and found program, partnerships with community outreach groups and local law enforcement agencies, a loss prevention growth strategy for loss prevention supervisors, an emergency alert program and more.
Previous positions held by Ms. Wilson include Director of Loss Prevention at College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center in Hyattsville, MD and at the Renaissance Washington DC Downtown Hotel in Washington, DC; and Assistant Director of Loss Prevention at Washington Marriott Wardman Park in Washington, DC.
A proud military veteran, Ms. Wilson served in the United States Navy in the rank of Navy Chief Master-at-Arms and property liaison/escort for political officials, dignitaries and high-profile personalities.
