TransPar Group of Companies to Share Expertise on Outsourcing Campus Shuttle Services at InterFace Student Housing Conference
LEE'S SUMMIT, Miss. (PRWEB) March 28, 2018 -- The TransPar Group of Companies, a partnership of three leading organizations from across the transportation industry that offers a diverse portfolio of products and services, announced that representatives will be attending the 10th Annual InterFace Student Housing Conference, April 4-6 at the JW Marriott Hotel in Austin, Texas. Over 1,200 top industry players from both off- and on-campus are expected to attend and participate in the industry's most important and well-attended event.
The TransPar Group of Companies has had recent success in the student housing market delivering customized transportation solutions. When The Scion Group, the largest, privately-held owner/operator of college and university student housing communities in the U.S., decided to turn their shuttle services over to transportation experts, they partnered with TransPar.
“Partnering with Scion has been a tremendous opportunity for us to implement a comprehensive, innovative solution,” stated Doug Martin, President of TransPar. “Included in that solution is also the SafeStop™ tracking app that allows the students at Scion’s properties to track where the shuttles are and their expected arrival times which has been well-received. Overall, I think there is a mutual respect between Scion and us and a good understanding of each other’s core business expertise, and we were able to put together an approach that allows the client to maintain considerable control over their operation while divesting their risk exposure.”
The challenge was to seamlessly outsource campus shuttle services during a time of fast-paced expansion in order to better focus on property management. “Offering transportation services is very different than managing real estate; it’s not our principal business or core competency,” stated Bryan Curley, Scion’s Vice President of Operations. “We decided we needed to partner with someone who could handle our growing transportation needs. We had equipment in place, but needed a specialized firm to manage hiring and training drivers, shuttle maintenance, monitoring, scheduling and other aspects of providing shuttle service.”
TransPar came in with a comprehensive solution that included recruiting, hiring and training drivers, inspecting vehicles, performing needed maintenance and then marketing the shuttle service to residents. TransPar also helped locate new vehicles for purchase in areas where Scion had not acquired shuttles from previous owners. TransPar’s services were completed in an efficient and expeditious fashion resulting in The Scion Group being able to focus on what they do best while providing added value to its residents and gaining a competitive edge in the marketplace.
“TransPar’s willingness to take on what was, by any standard, a daunting task and do it in a very tight timeline really set them apart,” said Scion’s Vice President of Legal Affairs, Michael Weaver. “I highly value the overall professionalism they bring to the job, as well as their responsiveness; there’s never a situation in which I can’t get hold of somebody. Whenever we need something, they’re always right there for us.”
Representatives from the TransPar Group of Companies will be available to discuss student housing transportation and answer questions at Booth #802 at the InterFace Student Housing Conference.
