Avid Collector Announces His Search For Original 1963-1966 Rolling Stones Boxing Style Concert Posters
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) April 01, 2018 -- Avid collector, Andrew Hawley, announces his search for original 1963-1966 Rolling Stones boxing style concert posters. Murray Poster Printing Company in New York and Globe Posters in Baltimore designed boxing style posters for the Stones. According to Hawley. “The Rolling Stones were the second invasion from England after the Beatles. Their first tour in 1964 might have been premature since their New Haven concert was canceled because of lack of tickets sales. This all changed the next year. The Stones had top singles on the radio and played in front of packed audiences. The concert posters produced by Murray and Globe act as historical snap shots of the band in the mid-1960s. They used bright DayGlo colors to make the posters noticeable from a distance. The layouts included stock photos of the band, titles of popular songs and venue and ticket information. The posters were printed on thick cardboard so they could be nailed to telephone poles or hung in record store windows to advertise for upcoming shows.” For examples of Rolling Stones boxing style posters, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/boxing_style/rolling_stones.html
