HealthSmart Casualty Claims Names Dean Mandis as Vice President of Sales
IRVING, Texas (PRWEB) April 02, 2018 -- HealthSmart, the nation’s largest independent Third Party Administrator of health plans for self-funded employers, has announced the appointment of Dean Mandis as vice president of sales for its Casualty Claims Solutions division, reporting to Charles Busch, senior vice president of sales for HealthSmart Casualty Claims Solutions.
In his new role, Mandis will be responsible for selling HealthSmart’s comprehensive suite of claims administration and proactive claims management services, including Workers’ Compensation, General Liability, Auto Liability, Property Claims, Federal Black Lung, Harbor Workers, Short/Long-Term Disability Management, and Unemployment Compensation.
According to Loren Claypool, president of HealthSmart Casualty Claims, the addition of Mandis to the team reflects HealthSmart’s commitment to providing excellent client service and innovative solutions. “Dean’s background in casualty claims and long-term industry and broker relationships is a perfect fit for helping HealthSmart deliver our brand promise of managing our members with dignity and respect, while protecting our clients’ bottom lines,” said Claypool.

Mandis brings over 25 years’ successful experience in casualty sales, brokerage, risk management, underwriting, loss prevention, claims management, and third party administration. Prior to joining HealthSmart, Mandis was a regional underwriter with Midwest Employers Casualty Company, where he was responsible for the appropriate management and underwriting of business in the northeast, southeast and central regions. In addition to executive and sales positions at leading broker organizations, he served as vice president and general manager for ManagedComp, a national managed care organization specializing in worker’s compensation. Mandis was previously regional vice president at EBI Companies, the workers' compensation specialist of Orion Capital, where he also held management positions in Production Underwriting and Loss Control.
Mandis earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Marquette University and Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Notre Dame.
