Women’s Forum and firm-wide focus on teamwork, female leadership recognized as keys to business success

Cornerstone Research, a leading provider of economic and financial consulting and expert testimony, is a winner of the 2018 Gender Equity Challenge. The firm is being honored for its commitment to providing career enhancement and leadership opportunities for employees. The firm’s Women’s Forum networking events are noted as a successful model practice that supports women in building business relationships. Administered by the Gender Equality Principles Initiative, the Gender Equity Challenge selects companies that work to link women’s empowerment and corporate policies.

Recognized for its unique teamwork culture and commitment to developing future leaders, Cornerstone Research has a rich history of empowering and developing all employees. The firm’s leaders collectively support gender equity; and the high percentage of women senior staff set a vivid example of colleagues who deliver superb quality work and maintain high standards for themselves and their teams.

“We are delighted to have received this important recognition,” said president and CEO Michael Burton. “Cornerstone Research has a long history of promoting gender equity, which has always been part of our culture, given that two of our three founders were women. We are proud of the strong representation of women we have in the firm’s top leadership positions. Our commitment to diversity is one of Cornerstone Research’s great strengths.”

Cornerstone Research’s Women’s Forum is an innovation first piloted in 2013 in the firm’s San Francisco office. The firm now hosts Women’s Forum events in cities throughout the United States, with a focus on presenting thought-provoking topics relevant to female professionals. Speakers typically are inspiring women academics with strong research and data to support their recommendations.

“The Women’s Forum is integral to our business model. It encourages women within the firm to seek leadership positions, and their presence in turn supports Cornerstone Research as an employer of choice," Chief Human Resources Officer Elena Garcia noted. "It also helps us address the needs of clients and the legal community who want to network with women and develop their own best practices to advance professional growth.”

The 2018 Gender Equity Challenge Winners will be formally announced at the Gender Equity Challenge Forum on April 18 in San Francisco. For more information, visit the Gender Equity Challenge website.
