Craftcation Panel to Feature Association For Creative Industries’ Director of Membership
Elmwood Park, New Jersey (PRWEB) April 04, 2018 -- The Association For Creative Industries (AFCI) is pleased to announce its Director of Membership, Jason Baum will participate in a panel discussion at Craftcation, a business and makers conference taking place this week that features creative business classes and craft workshops. The panel, “You Don’t Have to Quit Your Day Job. (But You Can If You Wanna!)”, will take place on Friday, April 6 at 9am at the Ventura Beach Marriott in Ventura, California. Baum will discuss the different ways that creatives balance the need for making art and making a living along with four other speakers: Mallory Whitfield, Kimberly K. Taylor-Pestell, Melissa Peng and Nicole Stevenson.
“What makes a great creative entrepreneur is having the courage to take a leap of faith and pursue your passion as a career. Although, it’s not that simple,” said Baum, who oversees AFCI’s start-up membership category that is designed to support individuals who are in the early stages of business. “A lot of entrepreneurs have the appetite to start a business, but they may not have the time, funding or knowledge that’s required. On this panel, I will talk about how entrepreneurs can balance these challenges and the benefits they can see from joining a membership organization like AFCI.”
AFCI’s start-up membership is for companies that have been in business for less than two years and have annual sales under $100,000. Benefits include access to industry connections, education, research, and events, like Creativation, which is the largest and longest running conference and trade show in North America, all at a discounted membership rate.
Craftcation is organized by Dear Handmade Life, a blog that provides education and events to empower creative individuals to do what they love. The event is sold out, but those interested in attending may be able to obtain a ticket from individuals who purchased tickets but can no longer attend.
