Prospect Silicon Valley Welcomes Kip Harkness, San José Deputy City Manager, to Board of Directors
SAN JOSE, Calif. (PRWEB) April 09, 2018 -- Prospect Silicon Valley announced today that Kip Harkness has joined its Board of Directors. Mr. Harkness, who serves as San José's Deputy City Manager with a portfolio that includes Civic Innovation and Digital Strategy, will bring fresh insight into the role of innovative technologies and public-private partnerships in shaping the smart cities of the future. Mr. Harkness replaces board member Kim Walesh, San José's Director of Economic Development and Chief Strategist. Ms. Walesh was instrumental in founding ProspectSV and has served the organization since inception.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Harkness served as the Director of Technology Engagement at PayPal. In that role, he led the development of PayPal's next generation technology solutions for solving technical problems for customers, merchants and nonprofits in their communities. Mr. Harkness previously served for 15 years in a variety of management roles for the City of San José and its Redevelopment Agency.
Throughout his career, Mr. Harkness has been instrumental in forming public-private partnerships to accelerate the pace of adoption for innovative technologies.
