HardwareCon Announces Speaker and Sponsor Line Up for 2018
SAN FRANCISCO (PRWEB) April 09, 2018 -- HardwareCon, the premier conference for hardware innovation, has announced its line up and keynotes for the 2018 event – themed “Get Deals Done.” Allan Alcorn, an American pioneering engineer and computer scientist best known for creating Pong, one of the first video games ever made, will kick off the event on Thursday April 19th, with a keynote about “The Evolution of Hardware Innovation". SC Moatti, entrepreneur, product maven, investor and founder of Mighty Capital and Products That Count, will provide the day two keynote on “Fundraising Strategies that Make Investors Love You.” In addition to the headliners, the agenda boasts top hardware investors, inventors, analysts, journalists, and entrepreneurs. The 2018 event will be held on Thursday April 19 and Friday April 20 at the San Jose Convention Center.
“Pong was pure hardware, no microprocessor hence no software,” said Al Alcorn. “Things have certainly changed since then, but many essentials haven’t. I look forward to sharing how we came to create the first commercially successful video game and all the challenges we faced; from getting capital, technical issues, IP issues and marketing issues. We went from zero to making millions of units and were a driving force in the video game business.”
.
Pong and Atari led a new industry and changed the way that people played and the latest hardware innovations promise the same level of innovation and disruption across many industries including healthcare, automation and consumer goods.
“We’re thrilled to be able to bring in Al and SC to present to our hardware innovators at this year’s event,” said Greg Fisher, a founder of Berkeley Sourcing Group, Hardware Massive and a founder of HardwareCon. “Al is a pioneer of hardware systems and a consummate entrepreneur – and now is giving back to the community by working with startups as an angel and advisor. SC Moati is a Silicon Valley visionary. Beyond her managing and investing via her VC firm, Mighty Ventures, she’s founded and runs Products That Count, one of the largest communities of product managers, leaders and entrepreneurs in the world. Previously, she built products that billions of people use at Facebook, Nokia and Electronic Arts. Both of these thought leaders are exemplars to our audiences of how we innovate and succeed as entrepreneurs.”
In addition to exceptional keynotes, the main stage boasts experts in hardware as a service, robotics, AI, Machine Learning and Blockchain, and healthcare. Breakout rooms dive further into specifics arenas where domain experts will also examine evolving business models in the expanded connected hardware universe. There’s also an exhibitor area with a Hardware Boulevard where startups can show off their latest inventions and attendees can participate in the Innovation Showdown pitch competition.
“Dragon Innovation’s vision is to make manufacturing feel easy. We use a combination of technology and human expertise built into accessible, straightforward online tools,” said Scott N. Miller, chief executive officer of Dragon Innovation. “We are thrilled to be a lead sponsor at HardwareCon 2018, the premier event for the hardware ecosystem. We look forward to meeting and interacting with new hardware startups to help them build hardware better than ever before."
