Surge in Billion+ Euro valuation technology M&A deals predicted as European tech sector matures
(PRWEB UK) 10 April 2018 -- Europe’s flourishing tech ecosystem is expected to see increased levels of investment and M&A activity in 2018, with a number of one billion euro plus deals recently announced or currently in the pipeline, and investment levels on the rise, says global telecom, media and tech news provider, TMT Finance.
“The buoyancy of the sector is reflected in the deal flow out there at the moment,” says Ben Nice, Managing Editor, TMT Finance. “We are reporting on situations including Advent’s planned sale of Dutch software business Unit4, worth up to several billion euros; Swiss financial services company SIX Group which is also for sale and worth around US$2bn; Dutch enterprise software group Exact, worth around E1.5bn; Hg’s investment into £1bn UK management software business The Access Group, announced this week; plus potential asset sales involving IRIS Software and some of Capita’s non-core assets.”
“Funding has historically lagged innovation in European tech, but this is now starting to change,” Nice added. “Global investors such as SoftBank, Google or Tencent, plus a growing number of European and American private equity firms and venture capital funds are showing increasing interest in the sector, reflected by the number of deals in the market right now and the emergence of multiple European tech giants,” he said.
