Dr. Dan Lorenz, DPT, PT, ATC/L, CSCS, owner of Overland Park-based Specialists in Sports and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (SSOR), is an invited speaker to the Wisconsin Physical Therapy Association (WPTA) being held April 12-13, 2018 in Pewaukee, WI. Dr. Lorenz will be providing a two-day course for the physical therapists in attendance.
Dr. Lorenz is a nationally recognized speaker in sports physical therapy and sports medicine. The title of his course is "What's Wrong With My Athlete and How Do I Fix It: An Upper and Lower Extremity Course." He will discuss a myriad of conditions in the athlete including elbow and shoulder injuries, foot/ankle injuries, performance enhancement in the athlete, screening and testing of the athlete, and post-operative rehabilitation for knee ACL reconstructions, meniscus lesions, femoroacetabular impingement (FAI) surgery in the hip, and sports hernias. Dr. Lorenz will also discuss the epidemic of early sport specialization and injury prevention in the young athlete.
Lorenz is the only fellowship-trained physical therapist in sports medicine in the Kansas City metro and was previously an assistant athletic trainer and physical therapist for the Kansas City Chiefs. Currently, he is a trusted resource for numerous professional teams and local colleges for rehabilitation of their athletes.
SSOR, started in 2012 by Dr. Lorenz, has locations in Overland Park and Prairie Village, KS. SSOR is in business to get the goal-oriented results quickly in an enjoyable atmosphere. Their approach is a healthy mix of education, exercise, and manual therapy to help their patients achieve their goals. SSOR accepts most insurances and has a cash-pay option. It is important to note that in the state of Kansas, consumers are allowed to see a physical therapist without a physician referral.
