In Puno, many families living in extreme poverty conditions suffer temperatures as low as 13 degrees Fahrenheit, which causes over 500 deaths each year. When I got back to the capital city of Lima, I realized we could make a difference with I.U.

I.U Wake Up continues to raise funds for their luxury sheets that are available at affordable prices on Indiegogo. I.U Wake Up was created by the family owned company Peru Pima with the goal of taking their products online to reach new audiences. Their intention is to provide luxury bed sheets that are made of high quality materials, while giving back to communities through their partnership with the Peruvian nonprofit Kusimayo.

“I created this ‘buy-one, give-one’ business model for I.U following a backpacking trip through the Andes mountains. I was welcomed by a family in front of Lake Titicaca, and after spending a freezing night at their home, I became aware of a serious problem that affects thousands of people,” said I.U Wake Up CEO Mauricio Varon. “In Puno, many families living in extreme poverty conditions suffer temperatures as low as 13 degrees Fahrenheit, which causes over 500 deaths each year. When I got back to the capital city of Lima, I realized we could make a difference with I.U.”

I.U Wake Up offers 300 thread count Pima cotton sheets. Pima cotton is known to be one of the most luxurious cotton fibers in the world. Pima cotton has naturally long fibers, making sheets feel silky, while remaining durable, so sheets will not pill in the wash. I.U sheets use a plain style tight percale weave where the threads cross over and under each other, one at a time, giving linens a breathable feel. These sheets are also Oeko-Tex certified, meaning that the fabrics are free of harmful chemicals. Each I.U Wake Up set is available in white during the Indiegogo campaign, with plans for more color options and printed patterns in the future. Available sizes include Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King and California King. Each set includes two pillowcases, one top sheet and one bottom sheet.

I.U Wake Up sheets are currently available on Indiegogo starting at $79. For more information about the campaign, visit bit.ly/IUWakeUpIGG.
