SkillSurvey Analytics Team to Co-Chair and Present New Research on Qualitative Feedback from Job References at the 33rd Annual SIOP Conference
BERWYN, Pa. (PRWEB) April 12, 2018 -- SkillSurvey, the leading provider of cloud-based solutions that help organizations hire with faster, more reliable insights, announced today that members of its Analytics Team are co-chairing a symposium on text analytics and presenting one of its four papers at the 33rd Annual Conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP), April 19-21, 2018, taking place at the Sheraton Grand Chicago. The team’s participation marks the 15th time it has been selected to present research findings at the annual scientific conference.
“It’s very exciting to be at the forefront of using text analytics to explore the role of job reference feedback in candidate selection, and to expand our research by investigating how this qualitative feedback relates to success of those subsequently hired,” said Dr. Cynthia Hedricks, Chief Analytics Officer at SkillSurvey.
The SkillSurvey team continues its comprehensive text analytics project, which includes open-ended, narrative comments focused on a candidate’s work-related strengths and areas for improvement. This year, the team is examining narrative feedback provided by 2,475 references (typically 2 managers and 1 coworker) for 825 job candidates applying for registered nurse positions representing 12 healthcare organizations.
Previous text analytics research presented by the team at the annual SIOP meeting has been featured in the Harvard Business Review and other publications including articles such as: The 20 Most Common things that Come Up During Reference Checks and References Should Come from a Candidate’s Coworkers, Not Just Their Boss.
