Chandler, N. Chandler and East Mesa locations add Preschool, FREE full-day Kindergarten

All parents want a high-quality education for their children – and we’re always exploring ways to bring the Legacy curriculum and experience to more students and families.”

Legacy Traditional Schools (LTS), Arizona’s highest-rated network of public K-8 charter schools, is pleased to announce the addition of new programs to three East Valley campuses. Starting Fall 2018, East Valley LTS locations in Chandler, North Chandler and East Mesa will offer free, full-day Kindergarten; the new Legacy Traditional Preschool program will be available for a weekly fee.

“All parents want a high-quality education for their children – and we’re always exploring ways to bring the Legacy curriculum and experience to more students and families,” said Mia Vega, principal, Legacy Traditional School – East Mesa.

Currently, all LTS campuses offer free, half-day kindergarten sessions, as well as a fee-based program that extends kindergarten curriculum to full-day. Chandler, North Chandler, Queen Creek and East Mesa – LTS’ newest East Valley campus, opening in Fall 2018 – will be the first to offer free, full-day kindergarten.

“Among the feedback we routinely get from parents are requests for expanded educational options for kids kindergarten-aged and younger,” said Nicole McMillian, principal, Legacy Traditional School – Chandler. “We are thrilled to be able to deliver for these families – and look forward to opening our doors to our youngest-ever class of Legacy students in the Fall.”

“Legacy Traditional Preschool’s curriculum is aligned with the Arizona Department of Education’s Early Learning Standards for preschool,” said Rebecca Pentland, principal, Legacy Traditional School – North Chandler. “The standards are a key framework for promoting the importance of early childhood education.”

In fact, the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES) notes preschool graduates have a range of shorter and longer-term positive gains in cognition, progression through school and social-emotional development.

Included in full-day tuition are a morning snack and lunch (delivered from the school cafeteria and eaten in students’ preschool classrooms). Breakfast, provided at no additional charge, will be offered from 7:30 to 8 a.m. in the preschool classrooms.
