Aries Wins Relocatable Education Category at MBI's 2018 Modular Building Awards
BATON ROUGE, La. (PRWEB) April 19, 2018 -- Aries Building Systems, LLC has claimed the first place award at the annual MBI Modular Building Awards in the Relocatable Education category for their work with the Ascension Parish School Board's Flood Recovery Temporary Classrooms, in Gonzales, LA.
The Flood Recovery plan for the school board was reliant on architectural integrity, technical innovation and sustainability, as well as being cost effective - all of which Aries Building Systems employed in this project, which was accomplished in 3 months from build start to occupancy. As a result of the flood that damaged past structures, Aries Building Systems, LLC worked closely with the architect, factory, and the client to develop an affordable, sustainable and flood-proof building solution.
"We feel really good when we can offer people an advantage… modular buildings that really serve a higher purpose." Comments Katie Roman, Director of Operations & Sales at Aries. "You just never know what nature will bring. So, we just make sure we're ready at all times."
Aries Building Systems, LLC proved to be not only technically innovative and reliable, but also an affordable solution for temporary high-quality modular classrooms to meet the deadline for the start of school. This project involved high levels of coordination between all the teams involved to include several cost-effective building features that were attractive to the school board.
The entire modular construction was prefabricated in an offsite factory and transported in 213 sections including over 75,000 square feet of elevated canopies and walkways to the campus where utility connections, fire alarm and communications systems installation, procurement and installation of a fully commercial kitchen were carried out.
All finishes used during construction are renewable, contributing to lower maintenance costs, and nearly double the lifespan of a standard relocatable classroom.
This relocatable modular building project was a necessary temporary replacement constructed on the campuses of four flood-damaged public schools. The buildings are comprised of a complex integration of more than 270 sections that when put together create separate large buildings with interior hallways, water fountains and restrooms and approximately 150 classrooms where the flood-damaged school campuses were formerly located. Aries Building Systems, LLC provided all finishing used throughout each modular building, creating appealing classrooms, offices, and hallways.
