Pushpin uses deep learning to speed delivery and increase accuracy

Pushpin announced today that it has secured a contract with Carson City to perform parcel change detection using Pushpin’s patent-pending deep learning platform. Leveraging multiple aerial imagery datasets, Pushpin identifies parcel changes that may affect property assessments. In addition to classifying parcels as changed or unchanged, Pushpin indicates change types (e.g. addition, construction, deck, demolished, flatwork, garage, new, other, pool, or shed) and provides a heatmap showing areas with the highest change density.

“Pushpin delivered high-quality results in days versus months and did so at one-fifth the cost of the competition,” says Dave Dawley, Assessor, Carson City. “Pushpin is applying to property assessment the same kind of artificial intelligence algorithms that Google used to beat world champion Go players. The result is a dramatic improvement in accuracy, turnaround, and cost—and a phenomenal return on investment.”

“Carson City was one of the first partners that we met after launching our Pushpin deep learning platform,” says Randy Milbert, Chief Executive Officer, Pushpin. “Dave Dawley and his team immediately saw the value in what we were doing and took advantage of it in their assessment workflow. We are delighted to work with tech-forward early adopters like Carson City in deploying and improving Pushpin.”
