SaleCycle Launches Marketing Permission Service to Help Brands with GDPR

GDPR, the new EU legal framework for data protection, comes into force in May 2018. It regulates how personal data is used by any company operating in the EU or targeting customers in the region.

In essence, it’s about building trust and being upfront with customers and visitors about how their data will be used, and ensuring that they know what they are opting in to.

SaleCycle’s new Marketing Permission Service has been created to help companies manage consent for their marketing campaigns to help them stay compliant with this new legislation.

Their service works in three ways:

On-Site Marketing Permission Notification. SaleCycle can trigger an on-site message to capture marketing permission at just the right time, to the right visitors.
Real-Time Collection of Your Permission Capture. SaleCycle can collect, in real-time, the permissions businesses gather themselves via their website.
Permission File Import. SaleCycle can import marketing permission files of a business directly into their service.

On-Site Marketing Permission Notification

When a visitor fills in an email capture field on a site, SaleCycle will trigger a notification style message presenting the option to opt-in or opt-out of marketing communications. The visitors’ choices will be instantly recorded as their permission status and used immediately to manage marketing campaign targeting.

The message explains that customers may be contacted about products and services, that their data won’t be shared, and they can opt out at any time.

This service recognizes if an email address has previously opted-in or out to ensure these on-site messages are only displayed when needed.

Businesses can tailor the frequency of these messages to gain marketing permission for as many visitors as possible. For example, setting an “opted-out” status to expire more quickly than “opted-in”. This means previously opted-out visitors can be asked for their marketing permission more frequently.

Real-Time Collection of Your Permission Capture

Placing SaleCycle’s code across a website enables them to collect the marketing permission from visitors as they opt-in or out anywhere on the site. This happens in real-time.

Permission File Import

SaleCycle will import a companies existing permission files into their service to keep an accurate record of who they can and can’t market to.
