Author Lois Kulp’s Newly Released “The Village of Birch's Ford” is a Tale of Tragedy, Triumph, and Love for Susan Winslow and the People of Birch’s Ford
MEADVILLE, Pa. (PRWEB) April 30, 2018 -- “The Village of Birch's Ford” is the creation of published author, Lois Kulp. Lois lives on Crow Hill in Eastern Pennsylvania, not far from the devil’s potato patch depicted in her book. Lois spent twelve years in Germany and fourteen in Vermont. She is also the author of “The Maid on Crow Hill” and “The Inn at the Mill.”
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Lois Kulp’s new book begins with an attempt to evade an undesirable and overly persistent suitor that ends in Susan Winslow being forced to leave her home. She goes to live with her Aunt Sophie in the small Eastern Pennsylvania village of Birch’s Ford. She is soon entangled in the Nineteenth Century lives of the villagers. There is the innkeeper’s son, who Susan has known since childhood. There is the handsome, blue-eyed Doc, who keeps women at arm’s length, yet cares deeply about the physical as well as spiritual health of those in his life.
Most important of all, there is the dirty little orphan boy. He may be unwanted and a thief, but he crawls into Susan’s heart and, eventually, the lives of the villagers. Sadly, there is plenty of tragedy. There will, however, be plenty of opportunities for triumph. Susan learns the hard way who to trust and who not to trust. Above all, she learns to wait on God’s timing to fill her lonely heart.
