Local School Launches App with New Safety Features
FORT SMITH, Ark. (PRWEB) April 26, 2018 -- The Southside High School mobile app uses unique functions built into all smartphones used today. The app can send instant notifications to area officials, school safety officers, students, teachers, parents or users in certain geographic areas.
The new app contains school events, school calendars, menus, parent teacher conference dates and times, as well as any current school fundraisers.
Notices of special academic achievement or recognition may also be added.
The apps RMAD technology incorporates functions like GPS location, providing turn by turn directions to the school or school events. A “submit a photo” feature allows photos of school events and activities to be submitted any time giving the school a rich photo catalog resource that can only be crowd sourced through the school community’s participation.
Instant notifications can also be used for reminders of school events, schedule changes, health issues, weather warnings or school closures.
Wayne Haver the Principal at Fort Smith Southside High School said, “We are doing everything we can to provide a safe learning environment and better communication methods for our students, teachers, and parents. We believe this is another step in that direction.”
