Sound Royalties Director of Music Royalty Funding, Reggie Calloway, to Make Guest Appearance at Unbridled Eve Derby Gala
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (PRWEB) May 02, 2018 -- Sound Royalties, LLC announced today that its Director of Music Royalty Funding, Reggie Calloway, will be returning to his hometown of Louisville, Kentucky as a special guest and featured performer at the 2018 Unbridled Eve Derby Gala. The gala will take place on May 4 at the Galt House Hotel Grand Ballroom at 7pm. Calloway will perform hits from Midnight Star and the Calloway Brothers.
Calloway, a five-time GRAMMY nominee, was raised in Louisville Kentucky where he later graduated from Kentucky State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Music. Calloway founded the popular techno-funk band Midnight Star and would organize their rehearsals at his family’s Kentucky home prior to being signed to a major recording contract. He then led the band to international success through writing and producing numerous number one hits such as “Operator” and “Freak-a-zoid.”
“I grew up in West End and lived in Southwick Homes where you could see the horse races across the railroad tracks. This personal homecoming in support of the Unbridled Charitable Foundation will be a special moment for me,” said Calloway. “I am looking forward to sharing my love and passion for music in the very place that helped raise me. As an ambassador for Sound Royalties and musician’s’ rights, I am honored to have the opportunity to represent our mission in my own hometown.”
An official Kentucky Derby event, the Unbridled Eve Derby Gala hosted by the Unbridled Charitable Foundation, Inc. is the largest charity event to take place in Kentucky. In addition to live performances, the charity will also include a silent auction offering limited and unique collector’s items. In its sixth year, the Unbridled Charitable Foundation, Inc. has raised over $2.2 million dollars through both direct funding from the gala and additional exposure due to the gala.
Prior to performing at the charity gala, Calloway’s homecoming will also be spent hosting a workshop for the youth at the Academy of Music Production Education and Development (AMPED). AMPED is a nonprofit youth program in Louisville that focuses on music and aims to provide a safe and productive environment for youth to explore their creativity through music.
“We are very excited to have local legend and musical star Reggie Calloway come to AMPED to give back to the youth in his hometown here in Louisville. Given his experience as a GRAMMY nominee, Sound Royalties ambassador and advocate for musicians’ rights, attendees at the Unbridled Derby Gala are truly in for a treat,” said Dave Christopher, the Founder and Executive Director of AMPED.
