Inspired by Maxine Waters, New York Film Academy Presents "Reclaiming Our Time"
NEW YORK (PRWEB) May 03, 2018 -- The Professional Conservatory of Musical Theatre at the New York Film Academy (PCMT at NYFA) presents an original musical performance Reclaiming Our Time: An Empowerment Revue, from May 4-6, 2018.
In the era of the #MeToo movement and inspired by the viral explosion of Maxine Water’s "Reclaiming My Time", this musical revue is a tribute to the power of women working together to make their voices heard. The musical tapestry celebrates women through a multitude of musical styles, following 7 characters as they explore their connections with others, their frustrations with love and heartbreak, and the desire to destroy glass ceilings.
This brand new revue was co-conceived and created by PCMT instructor Johanna Pinzler and Joshua Zecher-Ross. Pinzler also serves as director, with Zecher-Ross as music director. The cast includes current PCMT at NYFA students Krystal Kane, Elena Lozonschi, Abby Luke, Madeline Mancebo, Catarina Marcato, Carly McClain, Damaris Olivo, and Sarah Venners.
“The New York Film Academy strives to create an environment where all voices can be heard, especially through the visual and performing arts. We’re so proud to be able to support and create a platform for productions such as Reclaiming Our Time that explores women’s issues – a topic that has truly come to the fore in the last couple of years,” says David Klein, Senior Executive Vice President, NYFA.
