Dennis D. Austin Hopes to Enliven Young Minds to Mysteries of Bedtime Stories
HYRUM, Utah (PRWEB) May 07, 2018 -- Dennis D. Austin believes that bedtime stories for children should be fun, interesting, and stimulate imagination and creativity. While other books use colorful images as the primary source of stimulation, Austin uses sketches, drawings or photos to briefly introduce each story in his newly published book, “Curiosity the Bear and the Popcorn Party: And Thirty-Eight Other Bedtime Stories for Children” (published by Archway Publishing).

“I invented (most of) these stories while I was working as a wildlife biologist and away from home for two to several days,” Austin shares. “I recorded stories at night on an old cassette tape recorder. After getting the children in bed, my wife, Ann, would often turn on the tapes and our children would go to sleep hearing my voice.”
Incorporating Austin’s knowledge of wildlife and geography, the picture book for children shares a collection of stories featuring Curiosity the Bear and other characters. The book contains 39 imaginative bedtime stories for children and covers a wide variety of situations. According to Austin, these stories may be read by older children or by parents reading to their children.
“I always felt that interacting with children during story-telling or-reading was better for their cognitive development that just reading the story to them,” says Austin. He hopes that with the book, readers will enjoy the delights of imagination in bedtime stories.
