Goodwill Industries® Celebrates Lighting Up Lives with Annual Awards Ceremony
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (PRWEB) May 10, 2018 -- On May 9, 2018, Horizon Goodwill® celebrated it’s community partnerships, staff success, and several individuals who have worked diligently on changing their lives through training and employment services offered through Goodwill. CEO, John McCain said, “It is such an inspirational evening to celebrate the standouts of our organization and the business partners who work along with us to supply jobs to those who graduate from our programs. The added benefit of the evening is to see some of the participants in our programs accept their awards for overcoming their barriers to employment and continuing to live successfully in the community. Those awards make our work really rewarding!”
This year’s awards program was held at the Fountainhead Country Club from 5:30PM to 8:00PM. There were awards given to Employer of the Year was given to Maryland State Highway Administration, Mission Partner of the Year which was given to Rubbermaid, Employer of the Year which was given to Berry Global, Team Spirit Award given to Washington County Workforce Development Team, Spirit of Goodwill was given to Jennifer Walters, Graduate of the Year was given to Michael Kingree, and Achiever of the Year was given to William McCrary. The awards were broadcast live on Facebook.

This year Goodwill started the week with a 50% off sale of all used merchandise at their stores. Everybody is invited to celebrate Goodwill Week by donating things they used to love but no longer use, shopping at Goodwill for an item they are in need of, or volunteering at Horizon Goodwill.
