GreyCastle Security Welcomes Former United States Air Force Commander to its Board of Directors
TROY, N.Y. (PRWEB) May 16, 2018 -- GreyCastle Security, the industry's leading provider of cybersecurity risk assessment, mitigation and certification readiness services, has appointed renowned cybersecurity expert Michael Convertino to its board of directors.
Convertino brings with him more than 20 years of industry experience, both in the public and private sectors. He joined the United States Air Force in the late 1990s and led numerous cybersecurity programs, eventually retiring in 2011 as the Commander of the 318th Information Operations Group. During his time in the military, Convertino was influential in protecting U.S. national security, as he commanded a team of 600 cyber telecommunications, communications, signals intelligence and information operations personnel, developing cyber capabilities for the Department of Defense. He also crafted the standards for the rapid sharing of electronic intelligence, immediately following the 9/11 attacks.
Later in his career, Convertino joined Microsoft as a senior director, before moving to CrowdStrike as chief information security officer (CISO). He joined Seattle, Washington-based F5 Networks in 2016, as the company’s first CISO and is now VP, Technology, Security Products.

Convertino holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering and master’s degrees in management and information systems from Webster University. He also earned a master’s degree in international studies from the United States Air Force.
