The Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa Unveils Major Renovations
CARLSBAD, Calif. (PRWEB) May 17, 2018 -- The Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa will unveil extensive property-wide renovations and upgrades, including a brand new lobby area; zero-entry pool; 169 completely revamped guest rooms, including 48 suites, with many offering panoramic Carlsbad Lagoon and ocean views; and the addition of a new restaurant – 7 Mile Kitchen – in early June 2018. Furthermore, the resort will share amenities with the brand new Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, opening on the same campus in July.
Located along the hillside bluffs of Carlsbad, the resort has reimagined existing design details to unveil a new coastal palate of cool hues. The guest rooms and suites will seamlessly blend with the resort’s Mediterranean architecture and incorporate modern textiles, bedding and furniture, and ocean-inspired artwork. Forty-eight suites, all new construction, will feature two bedrooms, including a king-sized master bedroom, spacious living room and second bedroom with two twin beds. All guest rooms and suites will feature enhanced in-room technology with access to personal streaming accounts such as Netflix® and Hulu® directly from hotel TVs, Bluetooth® connectivity features, work desks with built-in data ports, complimentary WiFi and the Sheraton’s signature Sweet Sleeper® Beds.

Chef Gil Manipon will operate 7 Mile Kitchen, a brand new restaurant named after the city’s seven-mile stretch of Pacific coastline. Chef Gil brings an extensive background in hotel and resort culinary programs, most recently leading his team at Viejas Casino & Resort to achieve the acclaimed AAA Four Diamond Award. The restaurant will offer local craft beers, gourmet burgers and hand-crafted signature pizzas. In addition, the poolside restaurant will feature a gelato bar with a variety of seasonal and signature locally-sourced flavors, and fire pits for nightly s’mores making. The casual yet chic concept will incorporate earthy wood elements, colorful floral and pattered tiles, and beautiful hanging wood pendant lighting throughout the space.
The new 4,500 square-foot Sheraton lobby will feature high-volume ceilings with an impressive porte cochere entrance, an expansive double-sided fireplace and vibrant artwork, including custom pieces from local artists. The resort will also include more than 40,000 square feet of immersive meeting space with both outdoor and indoor options for large group events and weddings.
Other on-property updates include a new zero-entry pool and waterslide, kids’ activity center with family-friendly games and offerings – including a seasonal “Dive-In” movie series – and modernized courtyard areas. Guests will also have access to amenities at the resort’s sister property, The Westin Carlsbad Resort & Spa, slated to open July 2018. Focused on coastal luxury and wellness, the resort will feature modern guestrooms and suites, a stunning rooftop terrace with panoramic views of the coastline, and unique fitness programming.
