Southern Rentals and Real Estate Announce Southern Cares Program
DESTIN, Fla. (PRWEB) May 22, 2018 -- Southern Rentals and Real Estate has launched their Southern Cares program, an initiative aimed at furthering their vision to be the most caring company along the Gulf Coast.
For more than 20 years, Southern owners and staff have worked hard at contributing to and making a difference in their communities. Whether volunteering at charitable events, sponsoring local teams, donating stays, or raising funds, Southern has always been actively involved. Now, the local management company is taking it a step further. Partnering with two key organizations, Southern hopes to raise even more funds for and bring awareness to these non-profit institutions and organizations which treat terminal and life-affecting illnesses and improve quality of life for patients and families. Southern is proud to collaborate with the Alzheimer’s Association, Alabama/Florida Panhandle Chapter, and the Ronald McDonald Charities of Northwest Florida.
Southern has extended the opportunities to their guests, who now have the chance to donate to the Alzheimer’s Association or Ronald McDonald House during the booking process via Southern’s website or when working with their reservation agents. Their year-round approach to fundraising will surely garner strong results. To maximize those fundraising efforts, Southern is running contests during certain months for their agents. For example, Southern has made May the Ronald McDonald House Month. With June, National Alzheimer’s and Brain Awareness Month, Southern’s reservations team will be hard at work with a friendly competition to raise funds for Alzheimer’s Association.
Both charities are very special to Southern and they plan on continuing to support them in other ways, too, including this fall as the “Sweet Southern Walkers” gather together to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. In 2017, they were the top local team in the Emerald Coast chapter, surpassing their goal of $5,000 and leading the fundraising efforts for the walk.
“Giving back to the community has been a key component of Southern’s culture for years. It is great to see new plans evolve that are both developed and implemented by our staff,” says Southern Owner Kevin Veach. “Choosing two primary charities was tough because there are so many good causes, but these have touched our employees’ lives firsthand, so it seems only natural to work with them,” Veach continues.
In addition, Southern encourages employees to volunteer in the community by offering volunteer hours. For almost a decade, Southern has sponsored and participated with a team during the annual United Way Day of Caring. Southern Rentals and Real Estate employees volunteer in their local areas across Northwest Florida and Coastal Alabama, helping local businesses and communities.
Southern will also continue to support local schools and sports teams in the areas they operate across the Florida Panhandle and Coastal Alabama. Teams like the Southern Purple Unicorns, a local all-girls baseball group, are coached by Southern employees. It is through fundraising and volunteer efforts like these that Southern is able to give back to the community – something the company hopes to do for many years to come.
