"The Embassy's mission is to build bridges between America and the people of the Republic of Georgia, a strong NATO partner, and Jen is an inspiring role model who shows off the best of what America has to offer."
KANSAS CITY, Mo. (PRWEB) May 21, 2018
Jennifer Jo Cobb, American NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, will take her first lap as an international speaker. The U.S. Embassy Tbilisi will host Cobb from May 26 to June 2. Throughout the week, she will speak in multiple locations to groups of female and male leaders about empowerment, leadership, entrepreneurship, overcoming personal obstacles and the benefits of inclusive education to Georgia’s economy. Cobb’s appearances will include visits to vocational colleges in the capital city of Tbilisi, as well as Zugdidi, Poti, Kobuleti and Batumi, where she will encourage women and men to follow their dreams. She will lead a female-only race at Rustavi International Moorpark that will honor Georgia’s female soldiers, veterans and cadets.
Since seceding from the Soviet Union in 1991, the Georgian culture has experienced movement toward social change but remains patriarchal. In recent years, women have been included in Georgia’s military, served in law enforcement and in the government. The U.S. Embassy Tbilisi supports equal opportunity and education for Georgian women, believing that it will positively impact Georgia’s economy.
"The Embassy's mission is to build bridges between America and the people of the Republic of Georgia, a strong NATO partner," said Damian Wampler, cultural attaché at the U.S. Embassy Tbilisi, "and Jen is an inspiring role model who shows off the best of what America has to offer. Her message will reach thousands of young women and men in this emerging democracy."
“Over the years, I have spoken about personal empowerment at countless corporate events and schools in the U.S. Positively impacting the lives of others and inspiring them to become their best selves is important to me,” said Cobb. “I am humbled and grateful to bring my message to Georgia.”
Cobb continues to hold records in NASCAR’s Camping World Truck Series for the female driver with the most starts, the highest series finish and the highest finish by a woman in any of NASCAR’s top series at Daytona International Speedway, with her sixth place NCWTS finish in 2011. She is one of NASCAR’s few driver-owned teams and is the only female driver-owned team. Cobb launched Driven2Honor in 2011, to honor America’s female military members.
