St. Louis Region’s Largest IT Conference, Gateway to Innovation, Draws 1,500 Technology Professionals
ST. LOUIS (PRWEB) May 24, 2018 -- More than 1,500 Information Technology (IT) professionals from the St. Louis region attended the 12th Gateway to Innovation conference Wednesday May 16, 2018 at America’s Center Convention complex in downtown St. Louis. The conference was highlighted by renowned keynote speakers Charles Best (DonorsChoose.org Founder & CEO), Vinh Giang (Co-founder of 52Kards), and best-selling author Mel Robbins.
The conference focused on pressing issues facing the IT industry – including Blockchain, Big Data/Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality, Data Privacy, and Security – which were among the topics at more than 30 break-out sessions.
Gateway to Innovation Award Winners Announced
Winners of two annual Gateway to Innovation awards were announced during the luncheon portion of the conference.
Technology Leader of the Year: Shrikant Ramachandran, Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals
- The Technology Leader of the Year Award recognizes an individual who has achieved notable success in leading change, increasing productivity and effectively managing and executing business and IT.
Innovative IT Project of the Year Using Natural Language Processing on EHR Notes in Heart Failure Patients - Mercy
- The Innovative IT Project of the Year Award recognizes a project that demonstrates value or impact to the organization by solving a business problem or by addressing a specific strategic objective for the company.
The finalists were selected by members of the Gateway to Innovation 2018 Honorary Advisory Committee, a distinguished group of 54 Chief Information Officers and technology executives from the St. Louis region that provides long-term guidance for the G2I conference. The recipients represent technology innovators who have made lasting contributions to enhancing the quality of life and competitiveness of the St. Louis region.
The conference planning committee also announced that the 13th Gateway to Innovation Conference will be April 25, 2019 at the America’s Center Convention Complex in St. Louis.
